GST Calculator
Calculate GST-inclusive and GST-exclusive prices, GST amount, CGST, SGST and IGST quickly.
CGST, SGST and IGST
For an intra-state taxable supply, GST can be represented as CGST + SGST/UTGST. For an inter-state taxable supply, IGST is used. Official e-invoicing validation rules treat CGST and SGST/UTGST as half of the applicable combined rate, while IGST uses the full applicable rate.
GST-inclusive amount = Taxable Amount + GST
Taxable amount from inclusive price = Inclusive Amount ÷ (1 + GST Rate ÷ 100)
Example
If the taxable amount is ₹10,000 and the GST rate is 18%:
GST = ₹10,000 × 18% = ₹1,800
For an intra-state supply, CGST = ₹900 and SGST = ₹900. The total amount including GST is ₹11,800.
How to calculate GST
To add GST to a price, multiply the taxable amount by the GST rate and divide by 100. Add the resulting GST to the taxable amount.
How to calculate GST from an inclusive price
If a displayed price already includes GST, divide the inclusive amount by 1 + GST rate ÷ 100 to find the taxable value. The difference between the inclusive amount and taxable value is the GST component.
CGST and SGST calculation
For an intra-state supply where CGST and SGST/UTGST apply equally, an 18% combined GST rate is split into 9% CGST and 9% SGST/UTGST. Official GST e-invoice documentation describes CGST and SGST/UTGST as the two components when IGST is not reported.
IGST calculation
For an inter-state taxable supply, the applicable GST rate is reported as IGST. For example, at an 18% rate, IGST is 18% of the taxable value. citeturn0search7
